Let me tell you what I think of best digital photo frame, I don’t think there is such a thing called best digital photo frame, why? Its simple, because the digital photo frame industry is constantly evolving and newer and better lcd digital photo frames are being introduced to the market so its very difficult to pin point that the 10.4” Wifi digital photo frame is the best because 1 week or 2 later another frame will come along and become the next best digital photo frame.Its also open to nidividual interpretation, so I may class something best but according to you it may not be. Anyway, I found this really good photo frame on Ebay which I think is that best and looks really good (I love that baby…don’t you?)

The Kodak Easyshare EX-1011 digital photo frame has got nearly all the same specs as the Kodak EX-811. The only thing that is different in the Kodak Ex-1011 is the size of the screen so we feel its pointless going over the same stuff we have been through previously.

Kodak Easyshare EX-811 8-inch Digital Picture Frame with Wireless Capability

The Kodak Easyshare EX-811 digital photo frame has some plus points and some minus points. For the plus points it seems to be user friendly in terms of getting it out of the box and getting started with, it will take about 15 mins to set up. The picture quality is good with minimal glare. Once you have activated the Wi-Fi capability, you get other options where you can share videos, music and pictures directly from your computer or use Kodak’s gallery via the internet. You can Enable automatic time updates via the internet and it has an automatic start and stop time function as well.
Now for some of the minus points on the Kodak EX-811, The wifi does not work with mac, if you want it to work with mac you will need to get a third party app called TwonkyMedia. There is only one hole given at the back of the digital frame which means it tilts on one side when you try to hang it up. The stand also seems to be flimsy and tilts a bit too much back.
There is something else which buyers seem to be unanamous on and it does not directly relate to the Kodak EX-811 but I feel it needs to be mentioned and that is Kodak’s customer services. Their customer services seems to be poor, they don’t reply quickly and when they do they only answer some of the questions leaving the rest out.

Kodak SV811 8″ Digital Photo Frame

A good improvement from the previous Kodak SV710 where there were resolution issues. The Kodak SV811 comes with 800×480 resolution, which moving forward has become sort of a minimum standard if you don’t want a pixellated view. The frame itself is stylish and attractive. Can be made to stand up or hang up on the wall.
The interface is user friendly, it comes with an on/off timer facility and immediately starts the slideshow once its turned on. The colour of the digiframe is nice, bright and vibrant. You can plug a digital camera directly into the frame and view your pictures.
Since the frame is mains powered, it may cause an inconvenience when deciding where to place it because you will need a socket near by. You need technical knowledge in order to be able to play videos on the Kodak SV811 as it requires the videos to be compressed in a certain way.

Kodak SV710 7″ Digital Photo Frame

The frame has a nice design, there are instructions included with the frame that cover how to use the frame after you have uploaded the pictures but nothing to guide you on how to put them on. There is no internal built in memory so you will require a memory card before you can use the SV710 7″ digital photo frame which is not made bery clear.
There seems to be 2 thoughts on the picture quality, some people have been happy with the quality and some haven’t. The objection has mostly come from the advanced users who are really into their gadgets and want the perfect kit. The resolution is only 480×270, so its not brilliant and the picture may appear pixellated from a close view, but from a distance it will look ok. It also depends on the digital camera that has taken the picture, the better the camera, the better the picture.
My personal opinion is that it depends who the digital photo frame is for, if its for a gift for parents etc, it will do the job. But I don’t think it will cut it for the advanced users/technical savvy.
Another drawback with the digital photo frame is that there is no option for a random slide show, so after you have seen it a few times, you will know the sequence…not something exciting.
So overall the Kodak SV710 7″ digital photo frame is a neat piece of kit with a modern look and will make an excellent gift for those who are not that bothered about high resolution.
